VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT FUNDRAISER EVENTS – TEXAS HILL COUNTRY

Welcome to our regional calendar of community-based Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) fundraisers, compiled across the Texas Hill Country. Events listed here include BBQs, fish fries, raffles, music nights, and parades — all supporting the vital, all-volunteer fire and emergency response teams that serve our rural towns and counties.

Each listing is individually verified and formatted.

We only include volunteer-based VFDs, not county-funded or ESD fire departments, to honor the grassroots efforts that power these events. All of these organizations are non-profit, tax-exempt.

Events are listed chronologically and updated regularly as new fundraisers are announced or updated. If you know of a confirmed upcoming fundraiser that is missing here, please contact us. This page is part of our commitment to supporting Hill Country traditions, neighbor-to-neighbor generosity, and the volunteer spirit that defines our region.

On National Volunteer Firefighters Recognition Day (for 2025: Aug 18th), we thank, honor and celebrate volunteer firefighters across Texas and the United States. These individuals make up a significant portion of the fire service and their contributions are vital. Volunteer firefighters dedicate their time and effort to protect their communities. Did you know that about 65% of Texas is covered by a volunteer fire department?

Feb 28, 2026 - WILLOW CITY VFRD PET RABIES VACCINATION CLINIC FUNDRAISER: Willow City, at Willow City Fire Hall, 2553 RR-1323. Map. Web. Facebook. 1–3p. Rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats administered by licensed veterinarian; open to the public. Cost: $10 per pet, cash or check preferred. Annual fundraiser supporting station operations, equipment, training, and community services. All pets must be leashed or crated. Free ticket required; meal by donation. Tickets available from HVFD members, Security State Bank, and 7C Taxidermy. Donations may be mailed to POB 306, Harper, TX 78631. Mar 7, 2026 - HARPER VFD SPRING FISH FRY FUNDRAISER: Harper, at Harper Fire Station, 84 RR-783 N. Map. Web. Facebook. 4–7p. Fried fish plates, bake sale, raffle, and live music. Cost: $12/plate including sides and drink. Annual spring fundraiser supporting Harper VFD operations and equipment upgrades. All ages welcome; no RSVP required. Mar 7, 2026 - EAST LAKE BUCHANAN VFD 50TH ANNIVERSARY: Burnet, at East Lake Buchanan VFD, 101 CR-128. Map. Sat, 1-7p. Community celebration featuring live country music from The Steel Belts (1p), Daniel A. Hopkins (4p), and The Western Playboys (5p). Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.

Mar 7, 2026 - WARING ANNUAL CASI CHILI COOK-OFF: Waring, at Waring Hall, 11 Waring-Rd. Map, Web, FB. Sat, 2p. Friends of Waring VFD host a sanctioned CASI chili competition to support Waring VFD training and supplies. Features prize drawings, a 50/50 raffle. Chili turn-in at 2p. May 1-2, 2026 - BANDERA COUNTY FIERY CRAWFISH FOR FIREFIGHTERS BENEFIT: At Mansfield Park, 2886 TX-16 N, Bandera, TX 78003. Map. Fri: 4p or USO, Sat: 11a or USO. Annual event with games & fun. Over 1,000 lbs of spicy crawfish cooked last year. Corn Hole Tournament. All proceeds benefit Bandera County fire departments equally. Future goal: crawfish cookoff competition. Parking & admission: Free

May 16, 2026 - PIPE CREEK VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT CAR SHOW (& MARKET DAY): Pipe Creek, 1331 FM-1283. Map, Web. Sat, 9a-3p; Awards, food trucks, family-friendly fun, supporting a good cause.
